What We Offer Women

Primary Care

Women’s health encompasses more than just obstetrics. Our comprehensive primary health services for women include:
Annual Physical Exams: Routine check-ups to monitor overall health and detect early signs of potential conditions.
Chronic Condition Management: Ongoing care for diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and other chronic illnesses.
Preventive Screenings: Regular screenings, including blood tests, pap smears, and cholesterol checks, to stay ahead of potential health risks.
Vaccinations: Immunizations, including flu shots and other recommended vaccines.
Women’s Health Consultations: Consultations to address concerns related to reproductive health, menopause, and hormone management.

Also known as breast tomosynthesis, a 3D mammogram is an imaging test that combines multiple breast X-rays to create a three-dimensional picture of the breast. It is especially helpful to detect abnormalities in women with dense breast tissue.

This form of X-ray scan provides a means of measuring bone mineral density using spectral imaging. Two X-ray beams with different energy levels are trained on the patient’s bones. When soft tissue absorption is deducted, bone density can be determined based on the absorption of each beam by bone. Typically, a DEXA scan is used to diagnose and track osteoporosis.

Besides its use in prenatal care, ultrasound provides diagnostic images of soft tissue structures such as the gallbladder, liver, kidneys, pancreas, bladder, and other organs. It also can be used to measure blood flow in arteries, thereby detecting any blockages.

And guess what? We’re adding even more women’s specialty health services soon! Keep an eye out for updates or just give us a call.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is women’s health the same as OB GYN?
Women’s health covers a broader range of services than OB GYN, addressing overall wellness, chronic conditions, preventive care, and reproductive health. OB GYN focuses primarily on pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecological care, but women’s health encompasses both reproductive and general health needs.

What does women’s health include?
Women’s health includes primary care services like annual physicals, chronic disease management, preventive screenings, reproductive health consultations, contraceptive counseling, menopause care, and more. It aims to address the overall well-being of women at all stages of life, not just reproductive health.

At what age does Medicare stop paying for Pap smears?
Medicare covers Pap smears every two years for women over 21 and annually for those at high risk. Generally, coverage continues until age 65, after which it’s based on individual risk factors and physician recommendations.
